The Newcastle upon Tyne Bach Choir is one of the leading choirs in the North East of England. Now into its second century, it continues to celebrate the legacy of the great Johann Sebastian Bach and to promote high standards of choral singing in Newcastle and the region.
The Choir is made up of around 100 singers and, while remaining deeply committed to performing the works of Bach, also enjoys a broader repertoire, including commissioning new works. The choir performs at least three concerts each year and often works with world-class soloists and instrumentalists, especially the period specialists of Newcastle Baroque. For the last few years, it has also given large-scale performances of major works in Sage Gateshead involving the talented young musicians of the Newcastle University Symphony Orchestra.
